WE'RE HERE TO HELP

  • After we reserve our puppy, how does the process work?"
Congrats on your pending pup! Our process includes two steps: After reservation, we will communicate with you so that you can have an understanding of where you are on our reservations list. If you are first, then you will be the first to choose your puppy. If you are our sixth reservation, then you will make your selection after the five families ahead of you have had the opportunity to choose. Depending on how early we receive your reservation prior to birth, we will update you with a tentative timeline of an expected delivery date. Canine gestation is approximately 60 days from the confirmed mating date. Thus, we're able to be fairly accurate within a few days, plus or minus, and updates will be given accordingly.
  • What will my puppy be like as an adult?
Adult sizes can vary based on breed and overall size of the dam (mom) and sire (dad). In general: Labradoodles = 60-80 lbs. Ebby’s puppies will be approximately 60-70lbs. Hazel’s puppies will be approximately 65-80lbs (80lbs = max size of a male puppy full grown). Sheepadoodles = 55-70 lbs. Buffy and Teeny’s puppies will be approximately 55-65lbs. Luna’s puppies will be approximately 60-70lbs.
  • Will our puppy receive any potty training?
Biologically speaking, puppies won't realistically be potty trained until they reach sufficient maturation. The rule of thumb for a puppy holding their potty is 1 hour for every month of age. With go-home dates at 8 weeks old, that means that your puppy will need to have the opportunity to potty every 2-3 hours, maxium. With that said, Pine Belt Pups offers potty/crate training tips that are very effective but all puppies will require strict reinforcement of the principals outlined in our tips page for best results.
  • Will my puppy be fully vaccinated?
Yes! Vaccinations are highly important for puppies as a foundation for future health. All puppies will receive their first round of vaccinations via a 5-way Distemper (DHPP) vaccine. The canine 5-in-1 vaccine includes protection against canine distemper virus (indicated by the letter D), two types of adenovirus, aka hepatitis and kennel cough (named A, A2, or H), parainfluenza (P), and parvovirus (P). In addition to the first round of vaccinations, we also provide a deworming protocol which will be listed on your puppy’s shot record that will be provided to you upon delivery. The shot record will be given to your vet at your puppies first vet appointment and they will provide you with a follow up schedule accordingly.
  • What other vaccinations do I need to plan for during the first year?
Puppies, much like babies and young children, require vaccinations to protect them from the new world that they've been welcomed into. We've provided a recommeded vaccination schedule below that you should plan to complete during the first year of ownership, and every year thereafter. Please keep in mind that establishing a vetrinarian and scheduling a visit within the first few days of arrival will ensure that your puppy stays on the correct shot schedule. 6 — 8 weeks: Distemper, parvovirus *Provided by Pine Belt Pups 10 — 12 weeks: DHPP (vaccines for distemper, adenovirus [hepatitis], parainfluenza, and parvovirus) 16 — 18 weeks: DHPP, rabies 12 — 16 months: DHPP, rabies Every 1 — 2 years: DHPP Every 1 — 3 years: Rabies (as required by law)
  • What can I expect grooming costs to be?
Grooming costs vary depending on overall weight of dog and geographical location (ie higher cost of living areas may increase base price). Base pricing is estimated around $45 for puppies and $65-$80 for adults. We reccommed that you look around at local groomers to get your most accurate estimate on pricing. We are located in Southern Mississippi with a typically warm climate. As such, we usually groom our dogs 3-4 times thorughout the year. Grooming needs will be based on the climate in your area and your individual preference on hair length.
